Meet the Owner of AV Designs HTX | Our Story

Hey there and welcome to AV Designs HTX! My name is Angie and I am the owner of AV Designs HTX. I am so excited to have you here! AV Designs HTX is a Latina-owned small business located in the heart of Downtown Houston, TX.

Growing up in a Mexican household of entrepreneurs, I got to see my grandfather hand carve wood into beautiful keepsake furniture. My mother made ceramics and loved to sew — as a kid, she made a lot of our clothes. I remember hand painting ceramics with my mom when I was younger, and then in high school I began making my own homecoming mums.

I am an incredibly proud mom of three, and each of my children has inspired my creativity in their own special way. I’m also a proud Military Mom—my son is a Marine Corps veteran, and my youngest daughter is an Air Force veteran. Their service has given me an especially meaningful connection to the military community and inspires the military-themed designs I create. From military pride to family, culture, celebrations, and everyday moments, all three of my kiddos continue to inspire the heart and creativity behind AV Designs HTX. Creating pieces that celebrate the people and moments we’re most proud of is truly one of my favorite parts of what I do.

I have always loved the idea of handcrafted items, and now I get to make cositas bonitas (beautiful things) for all of you. My designs are rooted in the things that matter most to me — faith, family, heritage, and community. As a woman of faith, I create pieces that let you wear your beliefs with pride. As a proud Mexican-American, I honor our cultural traditions through designs inspired by Talavera, pan dulce, and the stories our abuelas passed down. And here in Houston, we are proud of where we come from — and every design reflects that Texas heart.

Thank you for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to do what I love and make cositas bonitas for all of you.
